House packing tips

When you’re packing those boxes, keep these tips in mind.

  • Start early: no matter how great you are at packing, time is your best friend. Think two or three weeks ahead. Pack the items you use the least, first – things like books and photos.
  • Have a packing room: to avoid your house turning into a minimalist’s nightmare, dedicate a room to packing. Make sure you have lots of boxes, bubble wrap, markers, and tape. While you’re packing, cull as you go. Have a few trash bags handy, so you’re not tempted to re-think your decisions.
  • Be ready: have everything packed before the movers arrive. If you can dismantle furniture and roll up rugs, do it. The more organised you are, the easier it is for a removalist company to come in and pack the truck efficiently.
